Hello everyone,
I've posted here before about the situation within the household I'm living in and how unbearable it is. Well since then me and my partner has been discussing leaving and private renting. It'll be the first time we have lived on our own, so I'm just wondering what bills will we have to pay out each month. I know this sounds silly but I know most of them but I want to be fully prepared for what's to come. Any help will be appreciated x

RedHeadMumma

I've just read your previous posts and I'm glad you are getting your own place. I do hope your OH will pull his weight though with regard to your DD and housework.

Bills to expect are; rent & food (obviously Grin) electric, gas (if connected), water, council tax, home contents insurance.
Extras may include tv licence, landline, internet.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
Good luck Flowers

You get two water bills in Essex, one for supply and one for waste. Estimate around £40 a month in total. Electricity costs vary enormously but £80 a month is typical. Council tax depends on the area and which band you are in. Look at Voa.gov.uk for the band and link to your local council to check actual amount. If you have a low income, you may be able to claim help to pay rent and council tax. I recommend Entitledto.com to check out benefits.

Don't forget you'll have agents fees and a month's rent to pay upfront. Best of luck.
