May be worth asking if they will test baby for lactose intolerance. My dd had it and would feed constantly have liquid bowel movement after each feed (ending up with a blistered bottom)
She would go rigid and scream with pain. (Her cry was so loud)
The lactose free milk prescribed by the doctor made a massive difference although she still had some colic until 3 months. Once the colic cleared she was a dream and we were able to reintroduce lactose from 8mths.
We were put off for a while by doctors and health visitors and told babies do cry (they don't that much unless there's a problem!).
Good luck x

Am currently waiting for an appointment at the Ambulatory at Alder hey as the doctors don't seem to want to test him for it, my nephew is lactose intolerant aswell and i was allergic to cows milk, wether that makes a differnce or not i dont no!! my hv rang the children's hospital for me yesterday to see if my apt could be brought forward but they wouldn't , but they said in the mean time to go back to my gp an they said to try aptimal Pepti as it may be a protein allergy which is cows milk but wen reading the symptoms he falls more into the lactose intolerance I think!!
I feel the doctors kind of leave it up to you thow to decide , symptoms are very windy full of constant trumping past himself , always gets his wind up burbing! gets himself in such a state wen feeding an his milk goes everywhere down his chin , grumpy and upset throughout the day won't hardley settle always wriggling round on his sleep , nappys are watery but I wouldn't say there all that bad but every nappy for the last 2 days has had stains in which are watery but not a lot!! I do think he has colic still yer which I can live with as I no he will grow out of it but hate the thought of feeding him somthin that his body is rejecting an just making him worse !! did yours seem really unwell or would ubsay just not right and same symptoms as his , ave changed his milk twice and the thought of doing it again and getting it wrong 🙈

thanks for replying Smile

Sounds like you have a history of it. Dont forget all of the normal formula milks are cow based. My little one seemed just not right starving hungry and very poopy! She cried alot and very loud.
When she was a baby (she's 10 now) you were able to by the sma lactose free milk in boots at the time so it might be worth buying a pack and trialling it while you wait for your appointment. I'd stay away from soya but the sma lactose free was really good, if your nearest boots doesn't stock it ask if they can get it in or ask your doctor if they will let you try it on prescription.
