Thank you so much Mumsnet Local!

We had a wonderful time at the Curious Arts Festival (despite the pouring rain!) We took three children, ranging in age from 9 to 3.

The venue is absolutely beautiful, the house and grounds are gorgeous. There were a variety of tents and acts to enjoy, from authors (I caught a brief glimpse of Joanna Trollope!) to musicians. There were also a number of activities specifically for children including craft workshops and story telling.

Many lovely places to shop including a mini Waterstones branch where you could purchase books from many of the authors speaking at the festival. We enjoyed lots of delicious food, from Nepalese cuisine to stone baked pizza.

Despite the horrible weather, the kids really enjoyed the activities they took part in. There were some outdoor things to do including giant games like Connect 4 and mysterious wardrobes full of dressing up clothes, library books and witch's potions. I would say that the events are more for the slightly older age range in general but my younger ones still enjoyed themselves.

Plenty of space to camp and the glamping area looked fantastic.

Worth noting that some of the workshops and classes do need to be booked in advance. Definitely download the programme ahead of time as there were classes in photography and writing (for the kids), drink mixing and life drawing (for the adults) available to those who had booked ahead.

Curious Arts really is a one of a kind festival in an absolutely amazing venue. I'm sure it will continue to go from strength to strength.
