Moving to Seal and feeling anxious.

Hi Everyone. We are moving from West London to Seal in hopefully 2 months time. I'm pregnant with our first baby due in September and although I love Kent, I'm feeling very anxious about this move. We had our hearts set on a house in Otford but unfortunately we lost the bidding war and had to go to for this house in Seal.
I was wondering if any local mum here can put my mind at ease by giving me some idea about the area ? Is Seal a nice, friendly village to live in and raise children? Am I going to be very isolated with a new born ( all my friends are in London) or is there a nice mums community around? Is it easy to drive into Sevenoaks from Seal or is the traffic crazy? What about local primary schools, specifically Seal C Of E Primary School?
Thanks everyone. I'm freaking out a bit and any comment or help is very appreciated.

If you are on Facebook there is a brilliant Mum's group called Sevenoaks Mums network that will really help you meet people and find out about the area. You might need to on the admin explaining you are moving to the area so they approve you. Good luck x

Don't panic, you'll be fine. As the previous poster said, join Sevenoaks mums network on Facebook. There's also a SevenoaksMums website, which has lots of information about local Mum and baby groups. There's pretty much something on every day at minimal cost or lots of classes you can join. You can also sign up for NCT to meet parents with babies due around your time.

Seal is about 5-10 mins normally to central Sevenoaks in a car. Just avoid rush hour as it can take longer. I can't comment on Seal primary school from personal experience, but I've heard it's doing well. I think it has a forest school too.

Seal C of E is a fabulous little school. The head has won Best Head in Kent two years running. It has a diverse intake and an inclusive feel.

There are masses of mum and baby type classes, free and paid. There are a lot of new mums keen to make friends as they are on maternity leave or are trailing spouses or supporting their husbands.

Seal is actually a great place to buy right now as it's going to go up in value a lot. You will be able to walk to primary and to three secondaries including the new grammar.

Welcome to the area! It's really rather nice 😀

Hey there!

We moved from SW London to Kemsing (next village to Seal) nearly a year ago (as we needed a bigger house due to expecting another little one, and couldn't afford London prices for an extra room) and have not looked back. We love it. I don't know about Seal but Kemsing is very friendly. My eldest goes to school at Knole Academy and my 8 year old is at Kemsing Primary. It was honestly the best thing we have done.
And if you're looking for a childminder at some point in the future, I am starting up my childminding business in September (sorry, this wasn't just to plug my business I promise!).

If you need any more info about the area then drop me a message
