Dear Leeds families
At the Leeds Child Development Unit, we investigate all aspects of language development, e.g. how children learn to communicate and how they interact with other people. We run a variety of studies using toys, games, books, and computers, with children from birth to around 10 years of age. Our findings help us answer questions about how grammar, vocabulary, and effective communication develop.
We rely on local families to take part in our studies. Studies typically last around 30 minutes, and you are welcome to make a morning of it on campus. You stay with your child, and children usually have a lot of fun!
We are now looking for more families interested in bringing their children to the University to take part in our language research - find out more at leedscdu.org. You can sign up to take part via the website, or if you have questions, please get in touch (details below).
