Cheap Days Out in Cornwall

Tell us about your favourite bargain days out in Cornwall.

The beach.

St Nectan's Glen between Tintagel and Boscastle. Free parking on the main road and a lovely long walk beside the stream, through the woods to the waterfalls. (I can't remember the price, think it varies according to the time of year but must have been reasonable or I would have remembered

The charge is to see the waterfalls, a new area has opened up with the chance to see another previously hidden waterfall.

Not at all idea for pushchairs but amazing for older children and adults. Cafe, small shop, lovely people and they will lend you a pair of wellies so you can see the waterfalls close up

Penrose in Porthleven. You can park for free at the boating lake in Helston or at the other end in Porthleven. Lovely walk with a fab cafe and National Trust walled garden (which is free to use) in the middle. Great for cycling and scooting too.

Yes! Definitely the Penrose walk. That IS pushchair friendly and totally free

Loving these ideas! I really love Cardinham Woods near Bodmin, the cafe is lovely and the pirate ship is much loved by my DCs. Good spot by the river for winter BBQs too.

Not cheap for a day but we get huge use from annual passes for National Maritime Museum in Falmouth and Lost Gardens of Heligan nr Mevagissey.

Our go to place is definitely the beach. Otherwise my fave place to walk is Kennal Vale. It is so magical. Tehidy woods are nice too.

I tend to get annual passes, so after the initial cost there is no more to pay, and just take a packed lunch to keep costs down. We have local passes for Eden, Heligan, and the Maritime Museum.

We are also members of English Heritage and the National Trust. We regularly go upto Pendennis Castle as we live locally. The jousting events in the Summer are great fun!

Oh and we like going to Heartlands too. It's free, you just pay for the car park.
