Hello,
I work in the Dept. of Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford. I am looking for children and adolescents to participate in a long-term study examining number skills and brain development.
The study is open to right-handed healthy children aged 6,10 or 14 years old, and adolescents aged 16-18 years who have just started studying for their AS levels. If you have a child who is 5, 9 or 13, please get in touch as we can schedule their participation for after their birthday. Participants must have no known or suspected learning disability, neurological or psychiatric disorder.
The study involves a safe brain scan using a Magnetic Resonance scanner (1.5 hours) and several puzzles and games (3 hours), which we’ll repeat in either 18 or 24 months time (depending on the participant's education stage).
We will reimburse reasonable travel expenses and the participant will receive a gift voucher to say thank you. We also hope that the experience of being involved in research will be fun and informative.
We have lots of information on our study website tinyurl.com/brain4maths or please email me [email protected] for further details.
Best wishes,
