Nurses and midwives in Exeter

Hi, me and my family are moving to Exeter next year and I wondered if anyone knew how easy or hard it is to find a job for a nurse or midwife? I currently work as a Midwife, a Practice Nurse and a community staff nurse so I have quite a lot of different skills. Is there a bank agency that the local hospitals or CCG's use? Any tips? thanks

Hi Chasingthesun - I shared your post on our Facebook page to see if anyone could help you out. You can see the responses here: www.facebook.com/MumsnetExeter
Or I've copied and pasted as much as I could:
Jane Martin: The RD&E advertise nationwide! They have a very active bank but try not to use agency.
Emma Fuell: The Royal Devon and Exeter maternity unit advertise on nhs jobs national website. They also use their own bank staff to cover shifts. To be accepted on the bank is the same application procedure as applying for a substantive post. They sometimes advertise on nhs jobs for bank staff, but it may be worth contacting one of the band 8 matrons to support an application to the bank.
Lina Ficken: I work for the bank as an auxiliary and get most of the shifts I ask for.
Rde job vacancies here: jobs.rdehospital.nhs.uk/.../s1/Nursing_midwifery...

Hope this helps. Best of luck with the move.

No problem at all. Hopefully over time these talkboards will become a bit more conversational! Facebook is so popular and user friendly though (hard to compete with!) so I always try to share on there too, to make sure more mums see it. Have a great weekend Smile

I personally would try Newcross nursing agency they have the local authority contracts and pay much much better than the NHS plus you get to be more choosy about shifts!
