The team behind the Evolving in Conversation project, led by Brighton & Hove Libraries, funded by Arts Council and held in partnership with Photoworks, New Writing South and South East Dance would like to know your thoughts on the theme 'How Individuals Make Society Change' to celebrate the final phase of the project.

To find out more about the project visit www.evolvinginconversation.co.uk or find us on Twitter @BHLibraries or Facebook Brighton & Hove City Libraries. Join us at our Showcase Day on Saturday 30th May at Jubilee Library, packed with family friendly activities.

The Whole-Brain Child by Daniel J. Siegal - I would pass this book onto future generations of parents to help them understand the inner workings of the brain in childhood, so they can raise happy, calm and confident children!

This picture changed everyone's view on the police vs. black people which was immensely helpful for Martin Luther King’s campaign. I think it’s important for the next generation to see.

The Alfie & Annie Rose books by Shirley Hughes because I think they capture the real life family and community relationships beautifully. They teach children important life lessons in a fun, engaging and comforting way.

Many of the world changing photographs that spring to mind when I ask myself this question turned out to be really powerful and emotive images that stay with me because they remind me of how fragile we are, or how messed up the world can be. Im thinking of the iconic photograph of the little girl running naked down the road following the napalm attacks on South Vietnam by photographer Nick Ut, taken the year I was born. Or some of the recent photographs from Nepal currently circulating on social media. But these aren’t really the images I want to pass to my children, or the next generation. So I have chosen a truly world changing photograph - The Blue Marble. A view of the Earth taken by the crew of the Apollo 17 spacecraft. This was also taken in the year I was born, and surely photographs dont get much more world changing than this!

"Humans by Matt Haig: this book felt like an obvious choice, being Brighton & Hove City Read 2015. On one hand, space travel and aliens, such as described in the book, may be possible for my future generations. If so it would be interesting for them to see how we imagined it in 2015. On the other, this book has a deeper message of getting on with everyone regardless of difference, which is an important lesson I would like to pass on to future generations." - Jubilee Staff Member

Do you agree? How do you think the world will have changed for our future generations and what book, film, music or photograph would you pass on?
