Thanks Nargiza. I am writing to introduce myself. My name is Alistair Stirling of Stirling Careers Consultancy. I am based in Bromley, work across
South East London and have lived and worked in the area for nearly 20 years and married a local girl.

After a varied career encompassing, leisure and tourism, regeneration and education, I retrained as a Careers Adviser. In 2012 I set up my business delivering personalised one to one careers advice.

Since then my work has included delivering careers advice in schools and careers advice to adults who are looking to return to the labour market.

Have you considered your options?

Hi,

This post comes in time for me.
I used to work full time before having kids.
Now I have two under fives and I am really worried if I can continue my career.
I am sooo tired these days, I am worried I won't be able to perform as before. I used to be in Finance, which requires total concentration and long hours (not family friendly).
I have been at home for 6 years now and I would like to go back to work. Just SAHM doesn't fit me. But I keep thinking it won't be fair on my children and should I reconsider what job to take on. Or requlifying. Ah I am totally lost...
Do you have any recommendations for mums like me?
Used to be city workers, but lost the career path due to having children?

Hi. This is an ideal opportunity to think about what you want to do whilst the children are young. Possibly finance might not be the right thing to go back to. However you need to consider whether this was something that you really enjoyed and if so there could be opportunities in schools which require your skills and would need only shorter hours. Do you have time to develop other interests outside looking after the children? Could these interests possibly lead to a new career? If you have some ideas, could you try dipping your toe in by doing some voluntary work in an area of interest for just a few hours a week? As well as giving you an up to date reference this would also give you an idea if this new direction is right for you.

Did any of you go to Workfest at the weekend?
Did you have a chance to talk to any Careers Advisers?
Would you like some more help?
