Late primary application - chances?

I'm moving from London to Bristol for a new job set to start this June or July. The only problem is that my DS is due to start reception this September. Given the lack of primary places in Bristol, what are my chances of getting him in somewhere decent via a late application? I'm looking at Bishop Road as a possible - I know it's a big school so am hoping this might make it easier than somewhere small. Has anyone applied late and got the school they wanted? Am very stressed at the thought of it all and am dreading ending up with either somewhere a bit rubbish or miles away from where we'll be living. Any advice anybody? Thank you x

Have you called the council to find out whether there any spaces, how long is waiting list etc. They are helpful I would call them and get the facts

The good news is that there was a slightly lower number of children applying for a reception place for September 2015. The list of oversubscribed schools is at the bottom of this page here www.bristol.gov.uk/page/children-and-young-people/primary-admissions. Any schools not on this oversubscribed list may still have room for late applicants.
Hope this helps

Have you already decided on exactly where you'll be living? There are many areas that are on the outskirts of Bristol where there are good local primaries that aren't over subscribed.
