Some have put together this poster - we'd love to hear your thoughts.

What do you think the solution could be?

Posting on behalf of the 'Poosaders':

Tomorrow marks the first of our 'Poosader' missions. Please feel free to notify anyone interested. Any media, school papers, nurseries, VIP's, NHW, BRAG, or any groups you are part of.

ACTIONS:

9.30am : All those with pre-assigned streets, meet outside St Agatha's Church to be given your spray paint cans. Councillor Andrea Craig has sought some media interest, who may be there also.

Throughout the morning we will go to our assigned streets and spray all dog poo. Thus highlighting this unsociable problem that we face in Kingston.

OUTFITS:

We thought that if kids are involved, they could don a mask and cape, to mark the occasion with a Community feel. No problems if you don't have any, I will find a few in our fancy dress box I am sure! Adults feel free to do this also!

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:

We do not want this to be a one off, the idea is over the course of the next two months we 'spray paint' the poo on another couple of occasions.
By May there should be a Law Enforcement officer in place to start fining antisocial behaviour. Andrea has made the Council aware that we want this officer to be active at fining dog fouling offences as well as other antisocial behaviour, so they are active at times when the offences are happening.

So we will build momentum over the next month to show we will not tolerate this problem any more, then people can start changing their habits and be warned that they will be fined if they do not.

We would like all schools and nurseries to be aware of the campaign. Please take it upon yourselves to mention it to any establishments you frequent, be it a pub, nursery, gym etc.

The posters have been met with approval so we just need the final stamp to be embossed on the leaflets/posters and we can start putting them up and posting them through letter boxes.

The Environment Councillor is to be asked if he will be the person to whom we can report those offenders who we are aware of, in the first instance, so they can be warned that they are being watched.

Finally a FACEBOOK page is going to be set up (volunteer needed.......) so that we can take pictures to name and shame owners, show areas that are worst hit, communicate progress with the campaign etc. Please get in touch if you are clever enough to be able to do this. ASAP on this one would be great so we can put up pictures of tomorrows event.

Good luck everyone, see you tomorrow, let's fight this problem head on and not give up until the problem improves.

Interesting to see this development yesterday. Would love to hear your thoughts:

Kingston Council will introduce on the spot fines for litter bugs and dog owners who do not pick up after their pets, claiming it costs the authority £2m a year to clean up the mess.
