Waiting times - initial fertility appt Southern General

Hi! Really hoping for advice from someone who has experienced this. We are being referred to the Southern for initial fertility appt with a specialist. Can anyone advise how quickly we are likely to get an appt letter through and what a typical waiting time would be for the actual appt? wondering about going private to speed things up but would rather avoid it. not sure if it matters but investigations likely to be more on my side, possible implantation/progesterone issues. any guidance you can give me would be much appreciated!

hi there I believe the waiting list is roughly one year from when your are referred by your gp.

I live on the Southside and was a referred a number of years ago. Not sure if it was to a specialist based at the Southern (as that was where I was referred when I was having my miscarriage - I'd had to specifically ask to be referred to the Queen Mum's when I had ds) but in the event, the referral came through much quicker than they had suggested and I saw the consultant at the Victoria.

I was prescribed Clomid and did fall pregnant but unfortunately again miscarried (this time of twins ) really early on.

Had one follow up meeting (just after the ERPC) but then couldn't face further investigation, given that by that time I was 46.

1 year sounds very fast.

We waited for 2 and decided to go private due to my age and history.

When the flipping appointment came through I was 10 weeks pregnant with Dd.

Would highly recommend Gcrm/ Marco Gaudoin if you are going down that route

Just a quick update in case it is useful for anyone. referral made by GP first week in December. appt letter sent out 4 weeks later (really fast i think, given the Christmas break!) for appt mid Feb. so faster than i hoped which is good news. not sure what it will involve but it is an initial gynae appt at the Victoria.
