Senior schools and Ultimate Frisbee near Clifton

We are moving from the London area to Clifton next year and our son will be looking for somewhere to do A levels. The only one he is adamant about is Business Studies. He has some health problems which result in quite a bit of time in hospital and absences from school, and is a bit dyslexic, but pretty good at sciences and has already got one 'A' grade GCSE. He is not keen to commute too far as he gets tired easily, but tells me he's still keen to join an Ultimate Frisbee team and he currently plays for his school team. Any recommendations about friendly, possibly smaller, places to do 6th form - preferably with a Frisbee team Hmm? Not looking at private schools though :) Any insider information very welcome about schools or local Frisbee teams in the area. X

Clifton itself doesn't have a state secondary school/sixth form. All the schools located in Clifton are private.
The smallest sixth form (and relatively close) would be Bristol Cathedral Choir school, but am not sure if it would offer Business studies (or not). Competition for places at this school is very high. They do have a medical category for Y7 admissions (am not sure if this also applies at sixth form).
Other sixth forms are 1) North Bristol post-16 centre based at both Redland Green and Cotham school.
2) St Mary Redcliffe and Temple school (close to Temple Meads station).
These sixth forms would definitely offer Business studies.
There are others, but this may be too far to travel.
Open Days are coming up soon, so if you could travel from London and have a look that might help.
Bristol University used to have an Ultimate Frisbee team/society so guess that this may mean there are other teams locally. This was a few years ago though so may be out of date.

The link to the Council website is here:www.bristol.gov.uk/page/children-and-young-people/education-and-training-after-16 but for sixth forms you apply direct to the school or college.
Another option that would be close to you would be City of Bristol college.
I haven't done this myself (yet) because dd is in Y10 but have experience of teaching A level and some knowledge of what various schools are like.
