Moving to Cheshire

Hi

I am completely stressed and overwhelmed and hoping someone can help. We are planning on moving to Cheshire in January for my husbands job, the problem we have is our DS will be in Year 6 by then and I've heard a lot of the good schools are full and it can be quite hard to get a place.

I'm totally lost as far as what's to do best, if I buy a house how do I know if there are places at the school, do they tell me or do I need to apply the official way and wait and see? What if I buy a house and can't get into the local schools. Does anyone know what the process for the applications are?

Thanks

have you found anywhere yet?

How's it going?
I'm in a village a couple of miles from Holmes Chapel, heading in the Knutsford direction. I was going to suggest it and the surrounding villages but I see your DH is a bit concerned about the commute from here.

Of the other areas you wanted to see in your last post, Nantwich and Hartford are very nice. Mickle Trafford I'm not too familiar with the Chester area.
Let us know how you're getting on.

Hi, Just wondering if you ended up moving to Cuddington, we are in the process of relocating at the moment and are looking at Cuddington/Sandiway. We have two girls of 5 and 7 and would like to know a bit more about the area and whether it is as nice as it has looked when we have visited?

I live in the village and have done for 25 years moving from Lancashire. I've raised three children here and know a lot! It's a very mixed housing area with fab schools and sixth forms near by (two primaries). Housing suits all budgets but there are a lot of new builds centred on two new estates - one at each end of the village. Surrounded by countryside but easy reach to M6 and M56 and Chester and Manchester, Liverpool or Warrington are the nearest cities all about 20-40 mins away with trains and buses linking to them. There are lots of clubs and parks as well as tow new leisure centres and pools in Northwich and Winsford. It is too quiet for teens though. The village has doctor, dentist, bakery, shops, fine wine store and two pubs and a couple of restaurants with more near by. In box me if you want to know more. If you move mid term ring the schools direct, one is usually full but the other has been granted expansion by county. Both are excellent and feed to the same high school -Weaverham.
