Pushchair for recovering 5 year old?

My son is due to have his tonsils out. I do not drive and do not have help from friends and family to get and do things for me very much.
I'm not sure how much he will he suffering but I do know it is painful and lethargic and he needs to rest as much as possible for 2 weeks.
Do you think it will be unacceptable or dramatic to try and get hold of a stroller for him to use if I need to go to shops or to appointments and emergencies or does anyone else have any more tips or can tell me how much he will be suffering?

hi my 6 year old daughter has literally just had her tonsils out. It was a very stressful experience for both of us and yes day 5/6 after the operation was horrible. I was lucky and had support and a g.p. who at day 3 when she was in pain even after paracetamol & Ibuprofen gave her codeine on top.
After the op they are meant to be kept away from any public places for 2 weeks to reduce the risk of infection. A pushchair if you have to go out is a good idea ( my daughter became tired very quickly). If you can get hold of one a three wheeler buggy is ideal. My daughter is a tall 6 year old but still managed to just about fit in her younger brothers urban detour 3 wheeler and was comfortable and it was not to hard to push.
