Hi, My name is Ruth, I'm 35 and have a little boy who is 7 months. We live in Colchester (Myland) and would love to meet another local new mum to go out for coffee with sometime, pop to the zoo, go out on walks, etc. I'm off work until September which is when I will go back part time, but some weeks I get bored rigid staying in and I don't like going out much on my own so would love someone to do something with and have some adult conversation.

Looking forward to hearing from someone!

Ruth Smile

Monday week is good for me! I'm the same. My husband had a week off and as it was nice we went out and about. When he went back to work, it was boring! I've been to the minories to see a play but not the café. Is it easy to find once you enter the gate? You have me sold on cake! Wink

If you give me the email address you use for Facebook, I can message you from that without becoming a friend. Is that ok? Hope it is nice, as after Sunday I think it's pants all next week Sad

pinkdaisychain · 16/07/2014 13:55

Hi Chelsey, congratulations! Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl? I have a little girl who is 8 months old, the time has gone so quickly!

As for seeing replies, I think there is a way of subscribing to the thread, there's a button at the top of the page that says "watch", not sure if that's how you do it as I can't remember but wprth a try? X

chelc25 · 16/07/2014 14:29

ScoobyRoo · 16/07/2014 19:30

Hi Chelsey! Congratulations from me too!! Bet you're very excited and cannot wait until your little girl is born. Have you started getting most of your baby bits now?

You can receive an email to say you have a reply from this thread by ticking the box below the 'add your message here' section that says 'watch this thread'. Do you live in Colchester? I'd be happy to meet up for a coffee etc. I know how hard it is meeting people in a new town. When I moved down here 4 years ago I didn't really know anyone to meet up with!

Hi Ruth :)
thanks for your message. yeh i am excited and we have got most of our baby bits now, just the little things left to get really. Yeh i live in colchester. would be lovely to meet for a coffee :) x

pinkdaisychain · 16/07/2014 20:01

I live fairly central Colchester, whereabouts in Colchester do you live Chelsey?

Have you signed up for any antenatal classes yet? NCT ones are quite good for meeting people. Would love to join you and scoobyroo for coffee sometime :-) x

ScoobyRoo · 16/07/2014 21:22

I found the little bits to be the hardest to buy and there is always something you worry about forgetting. Least you know you are having a girl. I didn't know what I was having at the time which made it 10 times harder when looking!

Are you free to meet me and pinkdaisychain on 23rd, 25th, 30th July or 1st Aug? Can do most dates after this if you can't.

pinkdaisychain is right about NCT classes, although hearing about your pregnancy stage, I am guessing you've either started antenatal or will be starting soon. My experience the people can be hit or miss but it's a great way of getting to know people and I really enjoyed the classes too.

I live shrub end area so not t far from town atall. Im always writing a new list of things we need!i couldnt just wait and see what sex the baby was going to be, im to impatient lol. we went to our 20 week scan and she wasnt laying in a good position so had to go back 2 weeks later.that was bad enough lol.

My midwife isnt great in my opinion, she has booked me on to a one day labour class at the end of august but thats all. im free any of those days so whenever is good for you both?

chelc25 · 16/07/2014 22:15

scoobyroo and Pinkdaisychain are any of you on facebook?

ScoobyRoo · 17/07/2014 10:29

I am so impatient too so it was extremely hard for me not to find out!

That's pants! I was given an NHS 5 days course to book into but chose NTC off of my own back. Hope they teach you everything you need to know but don't be afraid to ask questions. To be honest, all the techniques they teach you to get through labour went out the window with me, so it was just nice to know the stages and what's going to happen etc.

I'm on Facebook but would rather meet first, so hope that's ok! If you want to do a private message to us, Pinkdaisychain showed me there's an inbox on mums net! Will see if I can inbox you to show you Smile
