Hello,
I'm 35 and I'm expecting my first baby (due in September). We are looking to buy a family house in Chesham. This weekend I visited Chesham for the first time and saw a suitable one in a nice area, however I have a few concerns. Maybe someone was in similar situation and can advise on the following?

  1. The house is a few minutes walk from a Little Spring School, but Ofsted rating is not encouraging. Should I even consider that school or is it better to look for another opportunity? And in that case, what are the best schools in Chesham?
  2. As I don't drive, it seems a bit scary to me having to walk down and up hills with baby buggy. How is the transport in Chesham? How other non-driving mums manage that?
  3. Once the baby is born, I will be on my own for the most of the time - my partner works very long hours and we don't have any family in the UK, I will also be leaving my friends in London, so I'm afraid that I will feel quite lonely. I've read that there are groups for mums in Chesham, but are they located mainly near the town center?
  4. How is living in the north part of Chesham in general? Would that be very inconvenient for a non-driver to do the shopping or go to the fitness club? If anyone can share their insights, I would appreciate a lot!

Little Spring suffers from
Being on council estate - always has it seems. My DH went there way back when it was Durrants.
There are busses serving Pond Park - regular if not frequent.

Have you chosen Chesham. If not, Amersham is place to be.
