Areas of Hemel to avoid?

Hi there
My husband and I both have to relocate from Cheshire to within commuting distance of London Euston/Kings Cross (and prefereably before August when our first child is due!!)
I'm enquiring as to good/bad parts of Hemel. I've heard Boxmoor is nice and also close to the station but that's all really.
Any hints or tips? Our budget is up to 325-350k.
Thank you!!

Areas of hemel to avoid - Grovehill, Highfield.

Boxmoor is nice, but is also pricey. Apsley has a station and is cheaper than Boxmoor. It be worth you looking at Kings Langley as well.

Other areas of Hemel are OK and do give you more space for your money, but you won't be able to walk to the station.

Jarman Park for newish houses. Highfield improved a bit, try to avoid Grovehill.

If you move to Watford - train from the junction goes direct to London Euston

Watford is about 15 mins from Hemel and nicer!

"Watford is about 15 mins from Hemel and nicer!"

I suppose a lot depends on which part of Watford. Personally I would hate to live in Watford, but horses for courses. Bushey, alderham or Elstree is really nice though.

I agree with RT, some parts of Watford are nice but not all. Commuting from Watford and Apsley to London is easier than from Hemel, but both are busier. I found Apsley a bit crowded. Worth looking at Kings Langley (good schools).

Which schools are good in Kings Langley @DrOetker ?
