Swimming with baby

Can anyone advise where you go swimming with your babies? I have a nearly 4 month old and i'd like to take her to the pool but I just dont know which is a good pool to take her to.
Can you also please give me any tips on anything I should know about that might help her first swimming experience be a good one.
Huge thanks!

If it's your first time swimming together, why not try to book on a parent/baby swimming class? That will give you an idea of their capabilities in the water, what is fun etc. Try Edinburgh Leisure website for a list.
Pools I've used - Commonwealth - has a whole large pool for children so you might like that as you will be in your depth throughout it.
Ainslie park - has several good changing rooms with pull down units, a godsend. Kids bit is shallow and small, you'd probably be in the main bit anyway with a baby.
Waterworld - wish it was still open! Water was warm, it was a more interesting shape (and the flumes! Not at four months though!)

In a month or so it might be worth getting one of the inflatable seats (not sure minimum age tbh) and then the baby's not in your arms the whole time.

Thankyou BuckeyeJim Grin I've phoned the Commie to find out more info and I think we'll give there a go. Was going to go tomorrow (sat) but the receptionist thought it might be very busy and so I think I'll leave it until midweek when it's hopefully quieter.
Will look into inflatables now. Top tip Wink
Cheers!
P.S any ideas if Waterworld is going to be resurrected?

Nope, I don't think it will. Still sitting there empty though!
Absolutely, if you are on ML you should do most things - swimming, soft play, shopping! - when older children are at school. Everything gets busier by about 3pm. A pool that's almost empty is heavenly Smile

We used to go to WHEC on a Thursday morning as it was quiet and the baby pool dead. Tried Ainsley Park which was recommended but always found it cold. A girl at work has started classes there and was moaning at what a cold pool it was, so think it's not changed.

I take my 7mo to lessons at portobello baths on Sundays, and there are younger children in the class. It's great! The same classes are run at the commie but are much busier.
