Day time meet ups with DCs

There's a Cambridge evening wine club going / meet ups planned.. . But I wondered how many people were interested in a day time get together?

I thought we could do the first one somewhere like Botanic Garden. So easy walk about for those with buggies & toddlers - and then head to the Garden cafe to recover with cake. They sell wine there too I've been reliably informed Grin

I know it seems ages off but how about aiming for Tuesday 14th January - say about 11am?

If the weather is terrible we could meet in town somewhere DC friendly. And then plan the next one....

Sound good?

It was lovely to meet you guys, and also to learn that children are not in fact allowed to climb the 150-year-old tree collection! Look forward to meeting again

Grin Did you get told off! Shame we missed that!

Don't forget the drinks coming up too at end of January.

Is it just me or has January already lasted FOREVER?

How often does everyone want to get together? Should we do weekly / fortnightly / monthly?

And what works best - park so the kids can roar around and then coffee?

There's Christ's Pieces (with small play bit) near Giraffe in town? That might work.

Argh gutted I've only just found this :( we'd have loved to join! What is DC?!

LocalEditorCambridge · 18/01/2014 18:49

Bummer you didn't see it in time rebeccamg Sorry to miss you.

There will be more coming up. It was good fun and hope you can make the next one.

And DC is shorthand for Darling Child, DS - darling son, DD - Darling daughter

Ofgs I totally forgot about this! I'll hopefully make next time Blush

RandF · 20/01/2014 21:03

Totally agree that January is dragging!
I"d certainly be up for a regular meet up, maybe fortnightly or monthly. Park sounds good as my DS is now at the stage where he is fed up in the buggie for too long. Christ's Piece would be good for the next one as easy to find ( a plus for me!) and can utilise park and ride.
Will keep watching and hopefully see you all again soon.

looking forward to joining on the next one :)

LocalEditorCambridge · 21/01/2014 16:33

Thanks for replies - I'm going to start a new thread in discussions organising next meet up - so no one misses it.

Hi - missed this one but interested in the next one. I have an 11 week year old. : )

wrestlingalligators · 22/01/2014 22:48

Yes we did, I had to retrieve J from a tree! Didn't put me off joining the garden tho, I loved it there!

LocalEditorCambridge · 22/01/2014 22:51

Oh Wrestling did you join?

I think I will too.

I've seen on the other thread you can't make a Thursday. That's a bummer. I'm trying to go through the week day by day so we never miss out on the same person - so the next one after will be a Friday. Hopefully see you then.

Yup I did, let me know if you fancy a runaround between meet ups

LocalEditorCambridge · 23/01/2014 10:38

Definitely!

By the way my email is [email protected] if anyone wants to contact me.
