Hi everyone,
Sorry to gate crash your website with our project but I have been having a nose around on here and have picked up a load of useful info. So rather than lurk in the shadows, I've decided to join in.
I am a Development Worker on a project called 'Dads Can'. The project sits within Monmouthshire Housing Association and it funded by the Big Lottery Fund for 5 years. The project is aimed at dads in Monmouthshire (also dads that have children that may live in Monmouthshire) aged between the ages of 14 and 25. The aim of the project is to support dads but not just all things parenting. We aim to promote interaction with their children but can also help with confidence and access to training and volunteering opportunities.
If you or anyone you know would be interested in finding out more about the project then please give me a shout.
Hopefully speak to you soon.

Dads Can.

Hi

This sounds like a fascinating project and one I agree with as I'm a stay-at-home-Dad. Unfortunately I'd need to halve my age to fit into your criteria and my eldest is 12 1/2!

Good luck!

Graham

It's great that young Dads are getting vital support. Did you know about Dadsnet, Dadscan? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/dadsnet

Well the beauty of the Dads Can project is that the funding is cut off to just 14-25 year olds but dads of all ages are more than welcome to get involved through volunteering. We aim to start some community projects with the dads. At present we are looking at tidying up the playground area at the Flying Start building in Caldicot so if anyone wants to get involved then just give me a shout.
We are also in the process of building our website and want to know what kind of things dads would like to see on it. Feel free to give us some suggestions.

Jim.

I shall Tweet this thread for you to open it up to other Dads. Sounds like you're doing great work.
