What to do in Wendover with small children and babies?

Hello,

We're about to move to Wendover with a nearly-three year old and twins due in February. Wendover seems v nice, but I'm just wondering what stay-at-home parents do with small children and / or babies to keep themselves relatively sane. Are there many playgroups / bumps and babies etc.? What will be the best way for me to make some friends when we get there?

All advice welcome!
Harriet

Just noticed no-one has replied to you. Mine are older now, but you have a mother and toddler group at the Memorial Hall on a Monday morning and a choice of playgroups. Mine went to Little Acorns. The John Hampden Infant school is good so most children do go there. The best bet is to look at Wendover News, you can find in the cafés, and look at what is currently advertised for young children. There was a music and movement class for toddlers and children but I am sure there is plenty more going on. You may find you have neighbours with children so you can see what they do. As they got older, mine went swimming in Wendover, did dancing, went to the music centre in Aylesbury, joined Brownies so we were never short of things to do. There is also plenty of sport available when they are a bit older. I hope you enjoy Wendover.

I know this thread is from a while ago but as we are thinking about moving to Wendover I thought I would see if I got any replies!

We have a 3 year old and a six month old and I wondered if you had found enough things to do with the young children?

Many thanks
Natalia

Hi, although we are in Aylesbury we often go to wendover for bits and pieces. There is lots to do in the area for kids. I've a two year old and a 4 month old. There are Hartbeeps classes about to start, there is a tiny acorns class near by. There are baby swimming classes all over the county. The woods are great when the weather is good and if you're a National Trust member you can get lots of use of Waddeston as the play area is brilliant there. The stars cafe in Tring is really good too and lots of classes use the space there. Hope you settle in well, loads of mummies in the area, sure you'll make friends soon. X
