Things to do Hertfordshire (now the sun has gone)

Hi Everyone

After a fun summer visiting farms, zoos, safaris and parks im looking for suggestions of where to go for fun now that the sun has disappeared and the rain/cold temperatures are coming. (my DD is 16months old) I've tried quite a few play areas but open to suggestions of more if you highly rate them - and any other fun things to do out of the ordinary :)

Thanks

Stockwood Park (just in Luton) is really good.

Am also a fan of DJ Jungles soft play in St Albans.

depends where you are in Herts!

but I find the winter is when local playgroups really come into their own - try as many local ones as you can stomach, and try them at least twice, to see if any suit you :)

Thanks :)

I'm from WGC but happy to drive anywhere really.

Hi, my dd is similar age and we are nearby... We go to the gym session at Herts Uni, mini movers, music train is good fun, planning to try our dinky dancers after Xmas. There is the secret zoo at the pub in woolmer green (outdoors though). Humpreys cafe in campus west to watch the fish and the new library in town does rhyme times. Plenty of nice play groups in the area, something on everyday if you can drive.

Mill Green Museum has a toddler craft morning every week. In fact most of the local museums have things on.

Try Story Tent at Trestle Arts in St Albans. Uni of Herts has some good shows on for little ones too. Raf museum in Hendon is free and huge. Plenty of plane clambering and hands on exhibits. Natural history museum in tring has lots of curiosities. Garden centres with pet sections always go down well too. Swimming.

Hi there, if you're looking for some fun indoor entertainment have a look at www.littlekickers.co.uk, they run football based activity classes which develop co-ordination, balance as well as introducing sharing, teamwork and taking turns.

Coming to Hitchin in Jan 2014, boys and girls from 18 months welcome.
My DS loved it so much we bought a franchise!

The football classes run in Gosling Tiny Tikes seem really good. They start from walking / 18 months I think. My son is older and loves them.
