Moving to area

Hi we will be moving to area next summer with our dd who is 9 I would really appreciate advice on schools as it all seems very confusing with Middle schools. We would need to move her to a middle school and then again when she is 13. Are there any middle schools where such a move would be easier and does anyone have any feedback on Bournemouth Collegiate as this would make life a bit simpler! We looking Lower Parkstone, Lilliput Broadstone? But we don't really know if they are the right areas to look. Looking on here Wimborne also seems good for families? All help will be very gratefully received!!

Hi there - I live in Broadstone and my children attended Broadstone First School, then Broadstone Middle which were both great and I can thoroughly recommend! From there, both of mine (1 boy, 1 girl) managed to gain entry to the local grammar schools - again, both are excellent (Poole Grammar for boys, Parkstone Grammar for girls - which is actually in Broadstone, not Parkstone :-) If not interested in the grammar schools, the school which they would otherwise go to after Middle School is Corfe Hills High School. Again, this is an excellent school (my neighbours kids attended) and has a very good reputation locally. The Ofsted reports for all of the schools mentioned are available online. Hope this helps!

I'm in Corfe Mullen (between Broadstone and Wimborne) - the schools here are also very good and feed into Corfe Hills. I haven't heard anything negative about the schools in Wimborne but they are popular so it is worth looking at catchment areas. I certainly think it's a nice area to live in, we're close enough to the towns for the essentials but right on the edge of countryside for a rural feel. The only drawback is public transport is a bit rubbish unless you're right in the centre, we only get one bus every 1/2 hr week days and once an hour Sundays and they all stop at about 7pm! Hmm
