Head Over Heels, Chorlton

What a dreadful experience!!! Not only did it cost about £5 per child for 1.5 hours, I had to pay £1 admission too. I don't understand why the parent has to pay.
The place was full of staff patrolling around telling people off for eating their own snacks and drinks. Meanwhile, the toilets had wee all over the floor. The children can't even put their shoes on to go into the toilets as the staff "look after them" behind the desk to make sure that they know what time you leave. If you leave late, you pay a fine.
Surely, the staff should have been making sure that the toilets were hygienic instead of hassling people about the odd carton of orange juice that they brought in with them?
The place feels like it is run like some sort of play centre Gestapo.
I won't be returning.

We go occasionally - were there yesterday actually. I do really resent having to pay £1 for my entry as it isn't like it's optional! I agree about the toilets being gross but have never been hassled for bringing on our own drinks.

Where do you prefer? I find Antz in your Pantz too large & hectic, & Land of Play a bit bleak!

Not tried Land of Play but as play centres go, I don't mind Fun iz Us in Cheadle. It is a bit small but the kids seem to enjoy it.

Hi have you tried Antz in your Pantz in timperley local.mumsnet.com/manchester-trafford/soft-play/93220-antz-in-your-pantz my kids really liked it in here, and for me it wasn't too claustrophobic, which I often find.

The chorlton one us much better than the wilmslow one. But it's been taken over and the original ethos of the place has been lost.

I went once to the wilmslow one.
Never again felt completely ripped off .

Binlorry · 09/06/2013 16:54

The Chorlton one has become the same as the Cheadle one in terms of feeling ripped off.

Oh dear...we came here the other day with our toddler. It was fairly busy and cost us both £1 to get in but we got a half price voucher...
We came again today, with our half price voucher.
On arrival, someone was complaining about the state of the toilets...and the place was rammed.
We were offered play and dinner for £8.50 a child and 2.50 hours play or to use our half price vouchers for 90 min play.
My partner quizzed the OWNER on the parent charge and was told they couldn't afford to open unless they charged... it cost just under £10 to get in...and that's half price.
So, my timer went on...90 min of play NOT 90 min in the building!
We waited 20min for dinner.
It cost just over £26 for two steak sandwiches and 3 childs meals at £4.25 each and the fish was about 1 and a third of a fish finger and the chicken was the same equivalent.
Then it cost £10.40 for 2 latte and 3 child drinks.
So...just under £50 for 90 minutes...and we travelled 40 mins each way in the car!
Gestapo staff too, but only watching for parent misdemeanors and not children safety really....
We are no longer customers.

it might be worth while checking if the staff have crb (dbs) checks before you take your children. i have spoken to someone that works there and was told that not a single member of staff have this vital certificate when it comes to working near children. i would never take my child again now knowing this. hope this helps a few of you other parents.

Hi everyone - if you're looking to go to head over heels, I highly recommend it (note that all the comments on here are 2013, it's 2015). the staff are friendly and always smiley.

Yes, it may be a bit pricey but the kids love it and the place is clean (even the ball pits!) on my motherly patrol to the bathroom, I noted a bathroom rota - they're checked every hour and definitely weren't as bad as the comments below seem to say! I checked with the receptionist and they have a 150 people capacity which is always good!

I had an ace coffee (necessary at 10am) and enjoyed using the FREE wifi whilst my kids ran rampant. The cafe is lovely and the kids loved the play area - they were exhausted afterwards! On a weekend its about £5 per child (my kids are older so it may vary) but we got a meal deal which is a couple of pounds more. i don't mind having to pay the adult fee, it's not a big deal.

definitely impressed - they must have done a complete overhaul since the comments below! there's two parts to the play structure, one for the littlies and one for the older kids which is a brilliant idea, when my kids were tiny i hated taking them to play centres for fear of the older children! the slides are fun for adults and kids (yes, I had a go) and I was very pleased.

i would recommend it over others - somehow a clean ball pit makes all the difference!

I have been to HOH Chorlton a week ago and the place is still very expensive, the prices keep going up so for a family of four where you do pay a lot (12 pounds just to get in). The adult fee is simply unnecessary, particularly since the parents are not really allowed to join the kids so they have to stay at the coffee place and buy coffees etc (so they can spent a bit more). And if you don't mind paying, you will enjoy some time being followed around by the play centre police where you are told off for playing really, it is ridiculous. Staff don't really look very happy either, not a friendly place at all. Ok the structure is good but there are plenty of alternatives nearby with better customer service and cheaper prices too.

With toddlers we used to go to Wacky Warehouse at Parrs Wood. Smaller but much friendlier and cheaper! Antz in your Pantz is better for slightly older children. If you go as a group your children have friends to explore with.
