Settle in with me this cold and blustery November evening for... what else? Tea and tunnocks.

Although, if you prefer Wine then I am happy to join you for a glass or two

How many Dundee based MNetters do we have then? And who would be interested in joining in the MumsnetDundee site, sharing tips and ideas, recommending child friendly cafes and restaurants (and great places to escape the DC for an evening).

The wind is whistling through the local site like a gale down the Hilltown. It would be great to fill it with fun events and perhaps the odd meet-up.

You can keep up with MumsnetDundee on Twitter and Facebook

Hi all
I love the idea of a local get together (virtual or otherwise!)! And the mere mention of a Tunnocks brownie is enough to get me on board with anything....
I would love to come to the craft night but not sure if I can - too many kids, not enough friends/family willing to babysit! Will let you know if this changes.
Will definitely be hanging out here more often now though x

Lovely to see more and more Dundonians popping up.

Great name, DeaconessBlue - I heard them being interviewed recently on local radio.

We will be organising local daytime meetups too, if you can't make it to the Craft Meetup. With DC, or without (depending on how old your DC are)

I was in Jessie's Kitchen this week, and they have a fab room with loads of toys - we could meet there sometime.

What level of craftiness do you have to have to attend the night? I would love to be Kirstie Allcroft but I am more like an enthusiastic brownie!

I am useless at craft stuff so I'd say Brownie level would be sufficient.

We thought it would be fun to do this rather than just meeting in a pub.

I have to admit I'm in not in Dundee! I'm in between there and Aberdeen, moved here a few years ago, but absolutely hate Aberdeen so tend to come to Dundee for shopping etc as everyone is friendlier and it just seems more . . . more everything really. Grin

That's alright, Floofy. The more the merrier in Dundee. Not sure if Aberdeen has a local editor yet.

Sorry, just noticed the emails - having a few issues with my phone it seems. I've replied - we have 3 people signed up with at least one other person interested but not yet officially registered.

Afternoon all. I am across the water but frequent Dundee each and every day for various reasons. Jessie's is indeed lovely as is their baking

Hello!

I'm in Tayport since defecting from Dundee a few years ago, but I guess I still count Smile

I like the idea of a meet up but I am rubbish at craft stuff. Will you all laugh at me?

Report
Pehsandbridies · 21/11/2012 21:15

I too am quite rubbish, I will be laughing but only at myself.

TeaAndTunnocks · 21/11/2012 22:09

ooh, lovely to see so many new posters here.

Have you all stalked us on FB?

The Fife site will be up and running soon, but those over in Tayport / Wormit area are welcome to join in the Dundee stuff too, since they are nearer to us.

If you know any businesses who'd like to add to our listings, please pass this on

We are also looking for companies who would like to offer great deals to MNetters for a small fee. If you know anyone who might be interested, do pass this info on

It is great for small businesses, and great for MNetters.

Just realised the meet is the same night my husband is away for work. Arg.

Will double check with him later but how annoying! Boo. Down with work, I say.

Am also hoping to come along on Wednesday, although I've officially given up on crafts after an ill-fated recent attempt to revive my knitting skills Xmas Grin
