OLYMPIC PARK TIPS ANYONE?

Taking the kids to see the Paralympics on Friday, just wondering if anyone who has been there with kids has any recommendations for food places or particular spots in the park that are good for children? Mine are 4 and 2 and like fountains, stuff with buttons to press and of course chips. So clearly we will be visiting the mega McDonalds but wondering whether to take a picnic for lunch (are there tables? can you take your own food in?) and also whether it's worth taking scooters for the kids. And in terms of actually watching events, are there buggy parks outside or do you take your buggy in? Any tips gratefully received!

Getting train from Shelford to Stratford. Can't decide whether I need a double buggy. Will take one for the 2 yr old but 4 yr old reasonably good walker so perhaps can manage with daddy's shoulders too. is there a lot of park to cover? Are there buses or anything that take you round the park? Thanks Ruby.

Problem with food is the queuing, so on that basis definitely take a picnic, and I wouldn't promise them MacDonalds either. Queue was way out the door when we went.

Don't know what venue you're going to, but in the ones we went to you were allowed to take in a bag small enough to fit under your seat, so certainly not buggies or the like. It should say with the bumpf you got with your ticket about bringing stuff.

Don't know about special buggy parks, I didn't notice any but then I wouldn't have been looking particularly either. We decided not to get tickets for our 5yo and 2yo and go on our own instead.

This guide which I assume you've checked, does seem to imply buggy storage is available.

Another yes for a picnic, it rained when we went but if the weather is nice there are lots of places to picnic. Queues were insane for all food options when we went. We used the buggy store. There was one by the stadium (information point) and another by the aquatics centre. The staff there are all very helpful and very happy to help. There was even a special 'buggy lane' when we went the main olympics from the station to park. Enjoy!
