Swimming at Bonnyrigg

Had planned to take the kids swimming at Bonnyrigg for a change, but are the changing rooms communal or are they separate? If separate, how much are the lockers as I'm taking 2 9 year old boys with me. Thanks x

Why not just phone them and ask??

I always forget until ridiculous hours like 3.30am.

Anyway I've found out. For anyone else who may want to know they are communal changing rooms clean and warm.

What's the pool like Grovee? Need a replacement pool now the Waterworld is shut!

It was very warm at 31 degree's which was great for me as I have a muscular skeletor condition which prefers warm water. There was a flume, a bubble pool and a fountainy thingy. Then there was a deeper pool for the slides with a wee hidey place. All 4 kids had a ball. Needed £1 for a locker and although the changing rooms were small we had no bother getting a cubical and locker.

Am just home from Dunbar today. Kids went free and it had a flume and a wave machine with a cafe where us mums watched from the side (we have 9 year olds upwards who are water confident.) and the kids had a ball. The cafe was reasonable. Paid about £15 for lunch but when you haven't paid to get in you don't mind paying for lunch. It was very warm according to the kids.

Went to the Time Capsule at the weekend and it took 30 mins from the Airport and wasn't overly busy for a weekend. Swimming was good and the kids had a ball.

That's a great run-down! Think might try Dunbar, ta.

Dunbar sounds good might give it a go at some stage.

Just to warn about Bonnyrigg, we went for the first time last Friday and the flume was shut for the entire hour we were there. Apparently it only opens when there is enough staff on.

Rookiemater, that's a good warning - had just arranged to take ds this Monday when I thought I'd see if anyone had mentioned Bonnyrigg on mumsnet - what did people ever do before this site? Grin

We went yesterday and it was open for 45 minutes of our time. We were there 10-11am
