We just find out that I'm 6 weeks pregnant, we went to speak with the GP, and have chosen Kingston as our preferred choice for giving birth. I would like to heard reviews about this hospital, in particular the consultant led maternity unit, how was the trip down to the hospital? care? and so forth.

Is it very busy Kingston in January? Baby is suppose to come late Jan.

Does anyone know how the ante-natal apps, were in St Mary's in Roehampton?

I also interested to hear reviews about childcare providers around Putney, and prices. We've been a bit investigating and frankly, we would like to know how much it's going to cost to take our future child in a nursery around. It seems quite frustrating going through websites and hardly see any fees. How do they pretend you can organise a budget. The idea is taking our future baby since 6 months old.

Thanks, I'm feeling quite newbie at the moment.

Congratulations!
I gave birth at Kingston's hospital 6 months ago. I was really pleased with the care I received there both during labour/delivery and postnatal. The midwifes were competent, helpful, nice and very supportive. I also liked the fact that it is a smaller hospital. The drive was less than 15 minutes with no traffic; it was in the middle of the night though.
All my ante-natal apps were at St Mary's, which I thought was an added bonus, as it is even closer to Putney. All pretty straight forward there.

As for nursery, based on the ones I visited and if you are looking for full time care, the prices range from approx. 1.500£ to 1.800£/mth.

Hope this helps.

Thanks @somar I'm amazed of how a nursery can charge those prices?? Are they made of gold? lol Not sure we're going to be able to manage childcare. I think that's my major worry. Not that we are poor, but those fees are a robbery IMO.

Are they very busy or, you can get a place easily?
