Balloon Fiesta Accomodation

I'm looking to stay in Bristol for the fiesta this year. I'm looking at the accomodation and have no idea whether it'll be good for parking, getting the bus to Ashton Court etc - hence needing your help!

Seems we have a choice of Broad Quay, Dighton Street or Welsh Back - what would you recommend?

Or have you any other ideas?

Plenty of B&Bs along Coronation Road, within walking distance (just about) of Ashton Court.

Clifton is very nice, a couple of miles from Aston Court, but a nice walk across Clifton Suspension Bridge to Ashton Court.

we've walked from hotwells/cumberland basin before - easy route, about 30mins I think so easily doable. Agree with Coronation Road (Bedminster) - though pick your b&b carefully and Clifton.
They put on buses from the centre to the fiesta and most places have buses to the centre so doable from further out if you wanted to.

Broad Quay/Welsh back are basically next door to each other - just be warned they will get very noisy at night as right on the centre and plenty of pubs/clubs there.

We've got 4 kids so most hotels/B&B out unless we are in different rooms & kids are too little. I'd love to stay in Clifton though.

They do close the suspension bridge at peak times in the festival (to walkers as well Sad) - usually thursday and Saturday evenings. This can be a bit of a pain if you are in Clifton.

There are serviced apartments you can rent in the centre of bristol (self catered) for similar prices to hotels I think. I haven't got a link as I found them ages ago for something but never used them. Might be an idea with the kids as I think they were 2 beds/living room.

What about the Premiere Inn?

Don't know where the extra E comes from. Sorry. We recently stayed in a Holiday Inn with adjoining rooms...

nearer the time prebook parking at the fiesta website they you can come and go. Following on the website or through twitter is a good way of working out weather they are going up or not. Some stuff does happen during the day in the arena but not really enough to amuse ibis is in a central location. You will be able to catch a but from just outside it (maybe not for the early morning assent) but you may be able to see them fly over (depending on the wind) you will also be well placed to see other things the Bristol has. M-shed which is free, the ss great Britian and boat rides round the harbour are thing that my dds enjoy

For serviced apartments in Bristol try Premier Apartments They have 2 bedroomed apartments but depending on the ages of your children, if you put one on the sofa and one on a camp bed/cot then you would all fit in. They are in the city centre and will take bookings for only one night. Many of the other serviced apartment companies have a minimum of a couple of nights stay.

ANother option, which my DH has stayed in previously is this

I've tried 5 serviced apartment places (OP here Wink) and none will book a 3 bed apartment so far in advance. Hoseasons have one though. Why is it so difficult!
