Breastfeeding support - telephone numbers, meetings, drop ins etc in Bromley

Hi there

I am hoping to BF my newborn when it arrives in a few weeks time, after a very painful BFing experience with my DS 4 years ago, which led to me stopping at 6 weeks.

I am trying to be as informed as possible in advance, as I know that things will be a little chaotic when the baby arrives.

Does anyone know of any local groups, clinics, drop-ins or even phone numbers which I can stick to the fridge, so that if I need help, I know where to get it fast please?

I live within easy walking distance of the centre of Bromley. I am likely to have a CS, I think, so won't be able to drive anywhere for 6 weeks after the birth, so as central as possible would be great.

They are all run on a drop in basis. They have a facebook page (search Breastfeeding in Bromley) and are on twitter @BreastfeedingBR

I went regularly to the Monday group in Penge with two of my children and found it an enormous help. Not just when I had specific problems, but it was a great source of support (and biscuits!) and a friendly place to meet other Mums and for my baby to play.

All the best with the birth, I do hope you get the support you need. If it is any encouragement, so many people find the experience different with each child, so hopefully you'll have a much more positive experience this time. Good on you for seeking out as much support as possible in advance, it can make all the difference.
