Great primary schools in Withington/Didsbury and Why

We're currently searching for a house in withington and I wanted to know of people who have experience with any primary schools around that area, and whether I can get any good reccomendations.

The specific area of withington is just on the outskirts of didsbury, so along parrswood rd-ish, if that makes sense.

Thanks in advance.

Is it specifically a state primary you're considering? As there are a few very good independent primary schools nearby - Stella Maris School and Moor Allerton... might be worth a consider. Good luck in the search..

Just a word of advice - Beaver road and some of the other schools in this area have been ridiculously oversubscribed this year (for 2012 entry). I know of several families who live in Didsbury who have not got any of the local schools they applied for and have been either allocated schools a couple of miles away - and in one case a school in Wythenshaw! It seems that you really need to be within striking distance of a school (i.e 0.2-0.3 miles) to be guaranteed a place. Good luck
