Leaving bag in car on school/nursery run - DON't DO IT!

I know sounds so obvious, and I could have told you all the reasons why its not a good idea. But on Thursday in Hyndland we were 10 min late for nursery so we just jumped out and ran in, I didn;t think, it didn;t even cross my mind. Parked right outside nursery, was gone 5 min, max.

Came back and window smashed, bag gone. Including phone, purse, expensive perfume and wee things like make up, but each item £15 ish, so not cheap to replace. All stuff I had worked hard and saved up for, I am so angry at myself. And anyones helpful comments about how it was a siilly thing to do are not very helpful Wink Netc person to say it, I may punch.

I am usually so careful, really really I am. And that one time I was in a rush....! never thought it would happen to me. 70 fekkin pounds to replace window! £20 for driving lisence and more for phone etc.

More I have told people the more stories I have heard of it happening recently in west end/bearsden area. (Possibly more its just this is where I know most people from) So just a wee reminder, cos its shit :(

That's awful. It's happened to me too before. My car broke down at traffic lights right outside the big police station in London Road in Glasgow - a shitty area, not like Hyndland Grin - in the days before mobile phones. I went into the police station to ring my dad and in 5 minutes the same thing had happened.

I felt something between wanting to kill the bastard who did it, and feeling so disappointed with my fellow citizens. It's a depressing thing to happen.

How shit! My only amusement is that there were a few dummy phones in my bag that the kids play with - ex phone shop display models, so look and feel real but nothing inside! I only how theif flogs them for £££ then gets done in when discorvered to be fakes Wink or am I being too evil?!

Its the photos and things on the phone that really upset me, wee ones of me and MNer expats dd (who batteling AML in hosp just now) so special pics that cant be replaced. Fucker. Was only £8 in my purse!

Oh I really feel for you giraffes. Years ago my car was stolen from Hyndland (not far from Notre Dame Primary). I worked in Hyndland at the time and hadn't long passed my driving test. I was only third party insured. Of course, I didn't put crook lock on the steering wheel. Thieves must have had such a laugh at me. We were so skint and we waited bloody weeks for the car to be found by the police.

There has been a spate of cars being broken into on the main road where I live now, during school run time. Big notices all round the school. Three parents parked up, walked the two minutes to school ground, came back and hand bag gone. I am amazed noone saw anything. It is a main road with houses on it, people walking, adults going to, coming back from nursery and school runs.

Luckily, I don't even have a hand bag nowadays, what I need just goes in my pockets, otherwise I might well be at risk. I am forever running late with drop off's.

Anyhow, they are shits, and I really hope it doesn't take you too long to replace what has been lost.

One of the Mums from toddler group popped round with some make up she bought me today - how sweet is that!

Sorted for a bag, phone, card, purse and make up. Just the money am missing and need driving license done.

I just hope they take all my steroid tablets at once and become really fat!

Hugs it's a real PITA,
Left mine by the car once unloading lots of bags.
Fortunately my purse was in my coat. Driving licence, library card etc still cost money to replace.Angry

DDs brownie leader got hers stollen from her car in a nice part of the nicest middle English town you can imagine.
She was not happy, she's very young and her car is her pride and joy.

oh it's horrible :( my aunt's car window was smashed in jordanhill, they took my granny's bag - she was very close to passing away and the bag was empty, my aunt hadn't even thought to take it out of the car. they ditched it in the garden. Angry
