What's Woking like - Hook Heath in particular?

Hello
we are considering moving to Hook Heath near Woking and wondering what people think of it? Looks really nice to me but would like to hear the thoughts of those who know the area better.
Also what are the best prep schools in that area?
Any advice much appreciated!

What a great selection! Will show my husband tonight.
Not to worried about not being villagey. If I feel I need to meet more people I'll just find the nearest mum and baby thing and take myself off there and say hello.
This move might make it a bit easier to convince my husband to go for a third (more space etc) so will no doubt meet people after that too.
Thanks for your help guys and keep the advice and tips coming if you have any more thoughts.
What about sports clubs/gyms etc?

The Hook Heath set hang out at David Lloyd although there's a tennis club in HH I believe. Woking gym club does Kindergym etc.

Hi Considering...Hook Heath is lovely - have lots of friends there whom I've met through school (St Andrews). DS is in Year 4 there and absolutely loves it. There is a school bus now that goes from Hook Heath too - even better! As FHAK says, Horsell good too. If I could afford would go for HH!

Phworr - what's st andrews like? Also thinking of Hoebridge. Any thoughts on them?
Thanks!

New to the market looks like it is a large plot...

Arf cece at photo number two! What was the estate agent thinking? 'Let's take a photo of a building hiding behind a tree'

I've heard good about both Hoebridge & St Andrews.

Phwooooar · 13/02/2012 19:51

St Andrews is a lovely school - great ethos, academic results and sports. We looked at both St A's and Hoebridge and chose St A's due to its smaller size and the head who was there at the time. It's also a v friendly school parent-wise!
