Hello! I started my DD last month I feel pretty confident that she gets to try all kinds of food but I must say I couldn't do 100% just sticks of food! I quickly realised she wouldn't put enough food in her tummy at night so she started waking up in the middle of the night which is something unusual for her. And I also noticied if she's really hungry she gets impacient so I have to help her. She has wheaty biscuits w banana and maybe some other fruit for breakfast which means I have to spoon feed her. I thought I was spoon feeding her too much so yesterday for her dinner I gave her some a bit of pea soup (it was meant to be puree!) then sticks of carrots, potatoes and some beans (which I helped her) and before she went to bed milk. As a result she kept waking up in the middle of night so by 4.30 she was really awake/hungry. I would normally give her milk but I went for wheaty biscuits and banana top up w milk. She's sleeping now! How are you coping with BLW?

Did BLW with my DD (almost 2 now). Piula presume your DD is about 7 months? It's common to start waking up at night around then. Not necessarily hungry, and if she is, it's milk she needs. Milk is the main source of nutrition until 1. I wouldn't worry about her being hungry, just give her plenty of milk and the food you're having yourself to experiment with.
For things like soup and milky wheat biscuits, you can pre-load the spoon and give it to her.

"Goshhowlovely* BLW is great, you will love it.

Sorry, when I said don't worry about her being hungry, I meant don't worry about the food. Just make sure she has enough milk. With BLW food is just a gradual learning and tasting process, so she shouldn't really be hungry when you offer her the solids.

Today it's been very easy as she's been sleeping loads :D This evening she'll have her first bit of meat (fish); can't wait to see her face! Did u take long for you to give yours red meat? cheers!
