Book (getting out of the house?) club Exeter

having just moved to Exeter I need to make new friends.....would anyone like to join me for a book club involving meeting once a month in a pub (weatherspoons in town?) to maybe read a book that we all choose or talk about books we've read and drink several glasses of wine, beer etc

Hi all,

I've just finished reading the book and loved it! Brilliant book. Looking forward to getting together to chat about it. We didn't make any plans to meet up Katekitkat, but said we would read The Help then meet up again.

Think I'm going to have to give book club a miss, i've hardly started reading it and my degree is taking over. I'm going to get to the end of the book though, who knows how long that will take me at the moment though! :)

jjemma1 and NMM - shall we start this off? When is good for you and any preferred locations? Can't do Tuesday or Friday evenings but otherwise fairly flexible.... Are we thinking of say meeting for an hour after kids are in bed? Or would something else work better for you?

Jemma & I met at the NCT group yesterday and we came up with Mon 25th too! How about Wetherspoons on South St? 7.30-8ish?

If u put a book on your table (as eye-catching as possible), I'll also come in carrying a book so you can both look out for me too! I'll just bring a current book so if I can't find you, I'll have something to read while I drink alone!!
Really looking forward to it and meeting you both! Will be the first time I'll have ever introduced myself as Elvis....?! Wink

I briefly introduced myself over on the Exeter mums thread. NMM has kindly suggested that I pop along on Monday too which would be lovely. I just need to sort out some baby feeding logistics.... Hopefully see you all there. I too will carry a book with me (something deeply intellectual, of course) :)

Monday 30th July at 7.30-8pm at St George's Meeting House, South Street.
