Charity furniture donating

I have a nice neutral sofa that is in too good condition to dump/skip, but no one will buy it on gumtree etc, (put it on for £50). Local freecycle seems to be full of grabbers wanting free stuff rather than actually freecycling stuff.

So, I'd like to donate it to a housing charity, but who to in the Edinburgh area? It needs to be picked up, and looking online there seems to be loads of charities to choose from. I don't really mind which charity gets it, but I'd like it to go to someone who needs a sofa!

I've used Barnardos and Bethanys and they were both very good.

We have used British Heart foundation on Dalry Road, they come and collect they are great

Edinburgh furniture initiative also collect.

What is freecycling if it's different from grabbing free stuff?

Bananarama its the "asking for stuff" that pisses me off... On my local freecycle there are more "wanted" ads than actual freecycling eg:

Wanted; Does any one have an adult bicycle they no longer need?

Wanted: Golf Bag to fit Trolly

Wanted: Does anyone have a computer, which is looking for a new home?

I have used Bethany. They came when they said they would and it was all fine.

I presume it has a fire tag on it? They won't take it without one.
