Woodingdean - Opinions/Advice

Hi everyone,

We are looking to move to the Brighton area next year from Somerset. Having spent Easter weekend driving around and checking out areas that would suit our budget, we have decided we like the look of Woodingdean.

Please could you tell me everything you know/have heard, good and bad about Woodingdean, for example, reputation, any areas to avoid within, reputation of schools (primary & secondary).... so that we can decide whether to look further into buying a house there!

Thanks ever so much =)

check out the catchment areas for secondary schools, it might be BACA, and I'm not sure that's everyones first choice, Longhill is ok, but they aren't the best secondary schools

Just looking and I think that the catchment area is for longhill. can't comment on the primaries though.

Grin
pinkhebe · 28/04/2011 19:06

some of it does have a nice view Grin and there is a good fish shop

Oh come on guys be fair. The views looked nice, its relatively close to the Royal Sussex (work) and with a budget of £240k for a three bedroom seems realistic.

Im asking for your opinions because i obviously don't know!! :-p

If you look at Hanover and particularly Elm Grove area you're still as close to The Sussex, and you get the advantage of much better schools/parks etc

Yes we moved away from Hanover for that very reason - small patio garden! You could also look at Hollingdean area, much better gardens and the schools, Downs Infant/junior are very good, and you're still in the catchment area for good secondary schools.
