Washing machine repair needed in Sheen

Can anyone please recommend a good, inexpensive repair person for my Bosch washer-dryer: the timer/thermostat for the tumble dryer part of the machine has broken. I'm having problems getting someone from the electrical shop on the Upper Richmond Road [don't know if I'm allowed to mention their name!] to turn up and need a back-up if they fail to turn up tomorrow.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

I have found Multifix ( I guess thats who you mean) to be brilliant in the past. Havent found anyone else half as good. Sorry!

Thank you, Kewcumber. You're right - it is Multifix who I've tried to use. They have been hopeless. There was a mess-up with them on Wednesday, they then promised to call on Thursday and didn't; they then promised to come between 1pm and 3pm today and, guess what, here we are at 3 o'clock and there's no sign of them and no phone call. I'm about to go down to ask them to sell me the part and show me how to replace it!

For the record, they've also been exceedingly grumpy and unhelpful, despite their "good" reputation. Grrrrrrr

I thought anyone reading may like to hear the next part of the saga. I set off to Multifix at 3.15pm and met the van on its way to my house; I'm sure they deliberately waited until after 3pm. The man has been uncommunicative and sullen; he has been careless in removing the facia and I've no idea if the parts that snapped and fell on the floor will prevent him for fixing it back properly.

AND, surprise surprise, he didn't bring the new knob that is needed [I wrote down all the details at the outset for him]. I can at least use the machine but will now have to wait until sometime next Tuesday for the new knob to come in and go through the palava of removing a cupboard door, pulling out the machine from the tight space and having him dismantle it again.

Arggghhhh!!

So, if anyone does know a reliable local man, I would love to have the contact number! Thanks.

Is Hampton Hill too far away? We had someone from Stewart & Young, and they were excellent, 020 8979 1178

Thank you for the number. I had another "failure" [ie, he didn't turn up] yesterday with the previously mentioned repair man . . . and we have now agreed Friday afternoon. Just hope he doesn't let me down again.

Great to know of an alternative!

Thank you for your post about multifix, I have just handed over £80 to Capital Repairs in Harrow. for nothing. I have an upright Panasonic vacuum I love, about 7 years old, works perfectly, but keeps cutting out and needs new fuse, I told Capital Repairs what the problem was , and asked directly if they thought they could fix it, the lady replied "it will cost you £80," which reassured me, while avoiding the question, they said they could not get the spare part, and kept all of the money, asking me if I would like them to recycle my vacuum for me. (they sell reconditioned vacuums) brazen is hardly the word.

I can add a recomendation for Stewart & Young.

Also recommend Stewart and Young. I find Multifix good for small appliances you take in though.
