nappy laundering service?

Anyone here who's used a nappy laundering service? Thinking of paying for one for DP's DD who is due to give birth at the end of March; they want to use real nappies, live in a small-ish flat so I think it would help. I found a website for one company but it doesn't give prices. Thanks for any advice or info!

Can anyone help Lucifera? I used disposables, so don't have a clue.

I pointed Lucifer in this direction, hoping that somoene would be able to help.

Surely some Glaswegian Mumsentters used real nappies and could advise! Hmm

.... or are we all too mean careful with our money and just launder them ourselves? Grin

prettybird, v kind of you to point me here and bump twice!

Sorry, I did use cloth nappies but I washed them myself (had an old fashioned pulley in my small flat - was a godsend!).

I have seen a nappy service van driving about the West End (although not for a while), but obviously that information is of no actual practical use to you Blush

All I would say is that if you have enough nappies and somewhere to hang them up out of the way then the washing isn't too big a deal. Still, I wouldn't have said no if someone had offered to wash them for me...so good present idea.

oh thanks suzi! they live in a not huge flat and I'm not sure they have a pulley ... and the flat has some damp problems. Maybe they will forget their green aspirations and go for disposables anyway!

If they have high ceilings then I'd heartily recommend one. Mine's in the kitchen but I know people who put them over the bath or even in the hall.

It's great for getting all those wee vests & muslins etc, that you seem to be forever washing in those early months, out of the way too.

yes they are great aren't they - DP's sister is in Glasgow too and she has one. Cheers Suzi! am logging off now to get my supper. have a good weekend, what's left of it.

Did u ever find out? I'd be interested in this too.

imissbrie, sorry only just saw your post (I was Lucifera, then namechanged). No I didn't find a service, our gorgeous granddaughter is 9 months old and they do mostly use washable nappies, and seem to manage - they got a pulley!
