Are you a landlord, or do you know any?

We've just been told that our landlady wants to sell the house, and we have to be out exactly 6 months after we moved in - having moved then because our previous landlord also decide to sell up.

Sigh.

Do you know anyone with a house in/near Cambridge who would like to rent it to a non-smoking professional couple? (no kids, despite being on Mumsnet, and not trying, I just hang out here for the chat)

Check Tucker Gardner, they are good.

TrillianAstra · 11/01/2011 11:05

Oh we are looking at all the agencies etc, was just wondering if there were any private landlords around.

Thanks :)

We stayed with a private landlord and now prefer to stay with the agency as you have more protection. Private landlords often submit you a dirty house. There is a website for prive landlord in cambridge if I find a link I post it here.

Colourworld · 11/01/2011 11:14

Here www.brettward.co.uk/canb/

TrillianAstra · 11/01/2011 11:23

Thanks - seen this one too :)

Obviously you need a good private landlord - that's why I'm asking MNers :o

We are in Cambridge right now so would see the house before we decided to take it, so it couldn't be that dirty.

Just checked with DH and the house we rent out in Fulbourn is 2 months into a 6 month contract, sorry! we would love really long term tennnants in there. If these guys decide to leave in 4 months time and you are still looking then perhaps we can sort something out.

Sorry!!

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 12/01/2011 09:35

BTW we rent it out through russell residential not sure if they have anything else round at the mo.

TrillianAstra · 12/01/2011 10:17

Russells seem to have a good selection (tonnes in Cherry Hinton), we are mostly using www.rightmove.co.uk which seems to have info from all the proper agencies.

Shame, it would have been fun to rent from a MNer, although we're trying not to go further out than Cherry Hinton.

LaCerbiatta · 13/01/2011 09:26

This agency is really nice, but has a very short selection. here

They're not on rightmove.

(we've been kicked out of our house too so I share the pain!)

TrillianAstra · 13/01/2011 09:29

Wow that is a very short listing!

Have CATed you back silverswan :)

Fancy a four bed in Milton?

The obvious flip side of that is that I too am currently looking for a new property to rent. Very stressful.

goldenpeach · 16/01/2011 10:09

Our landlord has another property which is out of Cambridge city though. I don't think it's far from Cambridge.

Do I need to ask? He is a good landlord and not intending to sell his properties as far as I know. We see him socially once in a while.

He is particular about tenants - our house was very clean and expects good tenants to keep them nice. He doesn't rent to students.

TrillianAstra · 16/01/2011 13:44

4 bed in Milton a bit big for us, but thanks :)

Goldenpeach I will PM you. We are good tenants I promise :)
