Give the admissions team a call. They are really friendly and will answer all of your questions honestly.
If you can actually get in to see them they will show you the school on a map with the boundary of ordinary applications for Sept 2010 entry, ie. those without special needs or siblings.

I also found them very helpful re Kew riverside, though A) they may not have collated the figures for this year yet and b) next is almost certinaly going to be diferent!

Last year was a really high sibling intake and I think they got as far as Gilpin Avenue going towards Sheen. I know that East Sheen Avenue fell through the gap but not sure about Palewell Park. Not so sure in the other direction though....

But yes, the staff will usually tell you. This time last year I was on first name terms with the school secretaries at East Sheen, Sheen Mount, Holy Trinity and Barnes Primary!

was at a paretns social this evening someone who didn't get a place at Kew Riverside last year moved to be in the sheen mount catchment for this intake for their other DC. Only to discover no place at any primary by June (would have got into Riverside under this years catchment disctance) and has ended up going private! Now has two childrne in private school and wasted money on a house move for no purpose!!!!

Kew I can believe it. It's madness round here getting into Primary Schools. Last year when we were struggling to get DD into a primary (even though we are 5-8 mins walk to 3 of the excellent primaries, people seemed amazed that I didn't lie and put my mum's address down (which would have guaranteed a place at one of the 'best' ones). I know it's important. I did lots of crying last year whilst we were in the middle of it, but all the schools round here are brilliant yet people seem to lose all their common sense/morals/better judgement....

Riverside do home visit "to help the child settle in better" - yeah right nothing to do with checking that you live where you say you do!

But yes our nursery head also said that there really isn;t a bad school in kew - and I agree even teh schools people turn their noses up at would be deemed pretty bloody good if they were anywhere else!

Ssecondaries on the other hand......

All Richmond Borough parents need to be aware that the council is looking to make some significant changes to Secondary Schools over the coming years, which could impact existing schools, so check out the thread: "New Secondaries for Richmond Borough" and join the debate. The council will hopefully listen to parents' views, but we can only engage in the process if we know what's going on.
