Kids bikes in Germany....

DS1 will be 4 soon and has decided he wants a big bike with peddels (sp?).....I've been looking around and have seen the Puky bikes and yes, they look great but they're so expensive!!!! (would cost about 170ish ? depending on the size )....Does anyone know why they are so expensive? Are they really better then other makes?

The bike would be handed down to DS2 but even with that in mind I think that it's still too much.....

Can anyone recommend any other makes of bikes?

Thanks

The Puky ones are quite good (see reviews).
How much do you want to spend?
We have several Isla bikes which are okay (rubbish mudguards, mind).

Specialised & Scott do quality children's ranges, too.
Really depends whether you need a quality bike or something from a carboot would be just as good (we've done quite well with kids' carboot and charity shop bikes). I suggest you try some of those first, then resort to the more expensive makes. DS (now 5yo) regularly does things like cycle 4-5 miles with us on country lanes, so he needed a good quality kids' bike. But when it's just up and down the lane, and the very occasional longer ride, the cheap carboot ones will usually do nicely.
