Hi, I'm in Saudi and there are a few ladies in Dubai and Bahrain but not sure I've seen anyone in Kuwait.
I've seen a few threads previously mention a website for expat women. Not sure of the address but try googling and see if you find anything as there maybe people there in Kuwait.

If it helps, the British School here in Riyadh is around £3,500 to £4,000 per term (depending on current exchange rate)

good luck

Sorry to jump in, can I ask how life in Saudi is? I'd imagine very difficult.

Will it be a good package? Lots of perks and plenty of chances to get away? I ask because I lived their - admittedly pre-kids and found it absolutely deadly. It is small, dusty and pretty ugly tbh. It is very hard to meet anyone other than expats - a lot of whom moan continually about the place. Are you comfortable being in a very unequal society. Driving is a nightmare. Kuwaitis like to get their thrills by driving at 140mph on the freeways. It is a dry country so you have to cosy up to the embassies for a drink, brew your own or smuggle it in (risky). What else? Oh, attitudes to women are not great. I was harrassed continually, despite always wearing long skirts and sleeved tops while out. Basically, if you are not in the Muslim coverall (sorry, I have forgotten the proper term) then you will get unwanted attention, even when you are driving. The summers are horribly hot - 50 plus degrees so you end up living in aircon which is not so good for you.

I'm making it sound pretty bleak aren't I? Nothing would persuade me to go back there but then I wasn't on amazing money. If your DH has been offered something fantastic in financial terms........ these are hard times. Hope you get some good advice on schools etc.

inwanttolearn, I have to be careful what I say on here as a while ago I mentioned some of the negative factors of living here and some smartarse said I should just leave then!
It is very difficult here at times. As The2ndMrs... says, Saudi is also a dry country therefore lots of quite dodgy homebrew around or else a visit to the embassy. Women are 3rd class citizens and have to wear the abaya (is that the word you were thinking of The2nd?) and have to carry a headscarf in case the muttawah (religious police) are about and shout 'cover hair all times' at you. In Saudi women cannot drive and they are very strict about various petty (in my opinion) things such as not being able to talk to a man in public (unless of course he is your husband) and one thing I really hate is the separate sections in restaurants/starbucks etc which gets frustrating. Oh, and the shops shutting for prayer. In summer it gets too hot (today around 35 degrees at lunchtime but last week hit 42 degrees), god help us in July/August.

On the plus side, the money is good (main reason most of us are here) it has enabled us to pay huge chunks off the mortgage and have lovely holidays I wouldn't normally have and there is a pretty good social life amongst the ex pats. we are lucky as we live on a huge new compound with hundreds of us here. We have a nursery a school and mums and tots groups and several pools, including an indoor one. Sports centre, squash, tennis, bowling. Lots to do for the kids. You really need to be living in a compound not a private villa as otherwise your lives will really be restricted.

Try www.expatwoman.com/forum/default.aspx?sid=1. Although they dont have a specific forum for Kuwait, there are lots of ladies who have lived there and who maybe alble to offer advice.
