I want my new au pair.. yes at last i have one... to take ds to playgroup. but the organiser said as i walked out the door on wednesday oh yes of course when the au brings ds she will need a blue card? Now she is a bit of an interesting ,so,control freak_ personality. But has anyone else been asked to provide this? We cant seem to get her one as we need to declare we employ her.. and officially she is au pair in return for board and lodging... with some pocket money.. otherwise she would be floored for tax.
anyone any suggestion.. i ahv written to palygroup QLD and asked if they are prepared to sponsor her as a volonteer so she can obtain said vital blue card... just feel that she looks after our son, we have a clean crb for her, references and clean drivers licence so we are happy ... i dont get what would be different if my mother or a friend took him?

What?
Why on earth would your AP need a blue card to take your son to playgroup?

Where do you live Chloe?

sounds odd to me, I don't really see why she thinks they need to see it

Are you in Aus?
I've looked at the website and it does seem to cover any volunteer or paid worker in any childcare situation, but there are exemptions. You'll have to give them a ring.
Quite what it's got to do with your playgroup leader I'm not sure... Your AP won't be staying will she? so she won't come into contact with any other child.
Actually, tell the leader your AP's an exemption, she's being a busybody

um she will stay with ds but she isnt employed by either us or the playgroup... Yes she is a busy body and yes we are aus on the sunny coast. The web site seems to say that as a volunteer palygroup qld will have to sponsor her appliocation for a bluecard... but she is a volunteer.. she will stay and sit and drink cofee just like i do! I knew i wasnt a playgoup fan....
