Munich calling - Please talk to me about DB Bahn Lander-Tickets (Bavaria)

I know this should be in "travel" but looking for inside info . I'm flying to Munich to travel on to Seefeld in Tirol (with my sister & DS). I see from the DB website that the cheapest way to travel is to buy a Lander-Ticket as far as the Austrian border (the remaining ticket is then about 6 euros). Does any one know if the tickets are dated when you buy them or blank ready to be punched at the station on day of travel? My reason for asking is that when I return from Seefeld to Munich I assume I won't be able to buy a return Lander-Ticket in Austria? Ideally I'd like to buy 2 in Munich to cover outbound & return journeys....I know I can phone DB Bahn in UK on Mon but fellow MN's are such a good source of info .

From memory I think they are stamped the day you buy them, but it's a few years since I bought one. Saying that you can probably buy one in advance over the counter, so it will be dated the day that you want to use it.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along.
