Moving to Singapore - Help!

We are considering a move to Singapore and I would really appreciate some advice regarding schools. We are interested in Chatsworth International - Orchard campus and Eton House. Waitlists at Tanglin and Dover court prep are currently too long.

I would love some feedback on these schools, good places to live and any other snippets about life in Singapore etc.

Thanks

oops, posted before I had finished! I would expect to be in serviced apartments, I have stayed at the Shangri-la apartments before, so will probably base ourselves there.

Sounds good, that'll be a nice base indeed. I can also recommend the website www.singaporeexpats.com/ to browse for property, just to give you an idea of prices here.

I agree with slim, that the market will come off a bit due to more projects being opened up.

hello, I haven't been on MN for ages! Slim congrats on your little bundle . Just out of interest did you hire a doula or just go privately? I'm very jealous you had a girl

I live in district 19/20 (Serangoon Gardens) and I love it. 10 min from just about everywhere including the zoo where my lo's spend most weekends. It's quite local but affluent locals iykwim and its alot cheaper. We decided to buy as rent was so high when we got here and it was cheaper to pay a mortgage believe it or not (interest rates are just over 2%)! The other plus side is that I can walk my ds to the the Australian school, and lots of his class mates live in our condo so instant play dates.

hi Quokka,
Long time no see, How are your gorgeous boys?
DD is lovely and DS very much in love. We'll see how that goes when she turn into a real little madam

Did not have a doula as was prepared for a short labor and happy to have an epi if things became intense.
And they turned out to be. 3 hours. 5cm within 1,5 hours at home then hospital then epi then baby out within 45mn. Home 12 hours later.

I did yoga 3 times a week and rehearsed breathing and visualisation hypnobirthing style. I was lucky, it was all straightforward and my Dr was fab, she guided DH into delivering DD!

Good luck with your course. I would defo have liked a doula had it been my first baby.

Sounds like you did fantastically! Yes ds might change his mind when she starts moving and grabbing HIS toys

My boys are great, but love to fight with each other ds2 is an impressive wrestler!

Where did you do your yoga, you sound as if you were very prepared for the birth.

we will have to catch up soon I would love to see your dd, am very clucky for a girl atm with all the testosterone flying around here!
