Posted on the education board but not much response!
So.. I am a qualified primary teacher looking to move overseas. We are going to time it when son 1 has finished GCSEs and so. 2 starts secondary.
The plan was to go to Spain as I speak Spanish and have an E U passport!
However, salaries are shocking and I will obviously need to pay for schooling too, although I appreciate some schools offer free places.
However, it does not have to be Spain although it is first preference. Is there anywhere you would recommend for me to go and teach and will be good for the kids at the age they are at. Husband can work anywhere as his job is on demand worldwide but he speaks no languages.

South America!

Salaries in Spanish international schools have never been competitive. Much higher in Northern Europe but cost of living will impact on that and they rarely offer accommodation. Middle East not as lucrative as it once was, the best packages (with housing/flights/Medical etc as well as good salary) now seem to be in south east Asia. Language skills rarely an issue and not expected, most live in an ex-pat community bubble of English. There are many excellent schools with great sixth forms, many are linked to well known English private schools. However many more that I wouldn't have my own kids set foot in so do a lot of research beyond the glossy marketing they all have.

If your DC intend to apply for uni in UK have you looked at how to maintain and evidence home student status? Eg keeping a house, regular visits and ties to UK? It's not automatic if they aren't ordinarily resident for 3 years prior.

Remember that this could affect university fees if you’re abroad for a certain amount of time (I forget how long).

Everyone in mumsnet hates the Middle East but it's a fabulous place to work in education. Accommodation is included. Alternatively try Asia. There are excellent international schools in both regions.
Check out TES most employers advertise there and will be interviewing in November and January.

Try companies like Teach Away and Teacher Horizons - the world is your oyster.

I worked in the Middle East as primary teacher for 4 years. Fantastic package, included housing, medical etc

We live in Spain. Private British school
and a few international schools locally. Lots of kids with parents working at the schools, and lots of families from all over living here. My kids go to local public schools but have friends in some of the private schools.
Cost of living is lower than U.K., but supermarket prices are going up. Elec & gas is still cheaper here for us.

Out and about can drink and have good meals at great prices; fab social life.

I'd have to get out and visit places before considering a move, ask on local FB groups in the areas you are thinking of.

My friend works at the international school in Soto Grande, her DC has a free place, they seem to have a lovely life.
