Moving to Singapore

Hey, I am thinking about moving to Singapore with my husband and two young children. My husband and I are both teachers and looking to work in an international school. My questions are:
Has anyone worked in an international school in Singapore before? How did you find it?
I have heard people getting a helper for help with the house and looking after children, we have a 2 year old so would need someone to look after her.
Are there many nurseries for young children if we didn't get a helper?
What would be a good package?
Is it quite difficult to get a job now due to the popularity with travel?
Any tips or help would be appreciated!!

I'm in Singapore now. There's lots of teacher couples here, who usually have a helper but some use nurseries, of which there's 100s, in any language you might want. Once your child is 4ish they can normally join your school nursery as well.
It's a great place to live but difficult at the moment, we still have lots of covid restrictions. We are moving to a living with covid model though so hopefully it'll be ok for next August.

A good package is somewhere in the region of 8500sgd per month, as rents are expensive. The top school pay more than that, then lots of ok schools pay less. Full healthcare, school fees and flights should also be included, and a bonus or gratuity when you leave (in lieu of a pension).

Getting a job in Singapore is always tough as its high up the list for many international teachers. However, it is possible, for my school around 50% of new staff where straight from the UK this year. A teaching couple is also more attractive, so that a plus for you. If you want to start work next August though you need to get a move on, my school has already closed all its adverts. Get on the TES or teacher horizons as free places to find adverts, or Seach Associates if you want a recruiter.

Also should have said- my school at least is getting fewer applicants this year than ever before, so its a good time to apply to Singapore if you want to!
